Wedding Dinner @ Sentosa's Shangri-La
Just came back not too long ago from a distant relative's wedding dinner. I didn't know anyone other than my parents and grandparents, whom I went with. It has been a while since I last attended a wedding dinner, and I was somewhat keen on this one because I haven't met this set of relatives for more than a decade at least I think. Many of them present were my paternal grandpa's brothers, sisters and their families. It was nice to meet the rest of the Quah family even though I practically don't know them at all. The photo slideshow of the wedding couple was quite nice because of the wide variety of photos that were taken at multiple locations. There was one of them in their wedding attire 'playing' rugby at the groom's old school, which I thought was pretty cool =) Its probably his favourite sport. The next wedding dinner will be a senior crusader's (who was my first SM) special day on 31st Dec... not too far away heh.

Life as an Auditor
I just passed the 2 month mark a week ago! *YaY* Its been pretty interesting so far I would say. I get to move around quite a bit instead of being stuck at my same old office, and I kinda like that in a way. Auditing at the client's offices has taken me from Tampines, to Tanjong Pagar, to Robertson Walk, to Alexandra, to Yishun, and I'm back at Tanjong Pagar again. I haven't actually spent all that much time at my own office in Raffles Place. Hours are longer than the usual as expected, and I only get to leave past 8 on most days (but I get to claim $10 for dinner and a taxi ride home if I work past 8). To answer in simple terms the question that many have already asked, the difference between an accountant and an auditor is that the former prepares all the financial statements while the latter checks them to ensure that they are correct =) I don't really know for sure how long I'll be staying in this line. I'll most likely be doing a personal evaluation on a yearly basis and I'll only move on to somewhere or something else when I feel that God is calling me to.

Cell Outing @ Vivo City
Went to Vivo City today, for the very 1st time! =) My turn finally came to visit what its developers claim to be Singapore's largest shopping mall, and it sure is a behemoth. We met for lunch, and I thought attendance was very good given the short notice. I think I was at the right place at the right time again heh. I've actually been craving to eat Carl's Junior for a few weeks, but I didn't want to suggest cos its a little more expensive compared to other places. The craving became greater when I walked past it before meeting the group since I was early. Little did I expect Joshua to suggest eating there, considering the many other food joints around, and for everyone else to agree too. I thanked God cos He really seemed to know what was on my heart. It sure was yummy munching on all that 'junk food', hahaha. Superstar Burger, fries, rings, coke (Btw, there's actually 20% discount if you use NETS and 10% if you use the Safra Card). We watched the 'World Trade Center' movie and I liked it! Some parts can really stir your emotions, and I'm pretty sure some people teared during the show. I especially admired the portrayal of fighting to live on for one's loved ones, and how powerful true love can be. The movie was a tribute to the many who gave their lives to save others during and after the collapse of the twin towers. We announced the name for my new cell during lunch - The Ignited Lifesavers - and it sort of tied in with the movie we watched. I enjoyed the outing and I'm glad we found the flowering tree and of course, The Red Rocket! haha.
P.S.: Photos will be out once Miss Joy sends them to me heh.

Right Place Right Time
Being at the right place, at the right time. What else can be better?
I recently bought and read a slim book with this title by Pastor Joseph Prince. I'm not a member of his church, and I understand that some people have some reservations about some of the teachings there, but as far as this book goes, I think it was pretty well written. The content of this book is linked to the popular topic: God's Will. Alot of changes have been taking place in my life in recent months, and often attached with these changes are important decisions to be made. The decisions we make will determine how well our future unfolds. Being someone who always wants to have the best (and give the best too as much as possible), I always remind myself to try and make decisions that are in line with God's will. This is simply because I am sure that all things in future will work for good then (Rom 8:28). I will also be more assured that I would receive the promise in Jeremiah 29:11. However, even after all these years of reading Christian literature and listening to sermons, I feel that I still have much to learn regarding decision-making as a disciple of Jesus.
There were quite a number of good Scriptural references in this book, which I feel is important for just about any book meant for believers. Being at the right place at the right time only happens regularly for people who desire and follow the will of of God. It is often my prayer to God now that He would put me at the right place at the right time, and I do believe that 'I can't help but get blessed' then. Quoting from the book, we may escape tragedies and disasters, close that business deal, meet our life partner, bump into a friend and lead him to the Lord and so on. Hallelujah! (^.^)
I was greatly prompted to write this post today because it really happened to me! I was truly 'at the right place at the right time'! Here's what happened:
After worship practise in church today, I took a bus down to Junction 8. I actually missed the first bus I saw by a few seconds, and I was a little irritated I've to admit (who likes to miss the bus by a few secs? As you read on, you'll find out why I was later actually glad to miss this bus). I was heading to the Hush Puppies store at J8 because I needed a new pair of leather shoes for work and I found out about their 30% sale yesterday. By the way, Hush Puppies is my favourite brand for leather shoes heh (they're really comfortable!). My current pair is also from Hush Puppies and I've been wearing it for more than 2-3 years. I guess you can say that this is a sale that I've been waiting for because my well-worn current pair has been cracking up recently. For one, the timing of the sale is great! As I was browsing in the shop, for the first time in my life I think, I saw my wonderful grandparents and uncle there too! I've never bumped into them at a shopping centre before. To keep this concise, my grandpa bought the new pair of leather shoes for me! I certainly felt kinda 'paisay' but he wanted to. He's been a great blessing since I was born and always likes to buy me stuff during occasions; he's also probably why I think one of my stronger love languages is giving gifts. Although I've been working for close to 2 months already, funds have been a little tight because of various expenses. This gift was a truly unexpected blessing and it came at a wonderful time as such.
There have been other instances previously when I found myself at the right at the right place. I'll share them personally when I get the chance I guess. I hope that all of us will desire to be at the right place at the right time. Only God can make it possible, so get closer to Him! =)

Went on 2 'marathons' over the weekend... it was one of the most physically tiring weekends in a while.
The first one was the Canon PhotoMarathon IV on Saturday. Its the 3rd tme I've gone for it, and it stretched from 9am-10pm. I had to run around all day to take a 'winning' photo based on the different themes announced at intervals. The themes this year were: Faces, Power: Simply Red, A slice of history, Darkness. It was fun to just set a day aside to take photos, even though none of my entries won. The standard went up again this year but as usual there were still some shortlisted entries that left people puzzled. Photography is part art, and that's probably what makes it subjective oftentimes.
"Old man with purple-dyed hair playing the harmonica"
(I didn't submit this for the 3rd theme but I think I should have on hindsight)
The second 'marathon' was the Chinatown Trail organized by my zone. From China Square (which isn't exactly in Chinatown), to the hawker centre beside Outram MRT, we went running around from station to station in teams. The highlights were Hum3 Jin1 Peng2 and 'rickshaw noodles' at Maxwell market, and this curry noodles store with white chicken at Block 538 market I think. The one I didn't quite like was Lightning Tea Rice found at China Square =p What a cool name right? haha.

Here comes the 2nd post! And its time to explain how the blog name came about... *Grinz*
Many of us have listened to stories of good vs. evil since young, and as for me, I especially liked Star Wars (Episodes 4, 5 and 6), in which good and evil are represented by the 'light' side and the 'dark' side respectively. Parallel this with the stories of the Bible, and the ongoing battle between the 'light' and 'dark' side on this earth becomes even more real.
I stand on the 'light' side, and I hope to share on this blog how I strive to live in the light every day of my life. All for the Everlasting Light (Isaiah 60:19).
Let the Light Side Story unfold heh... =)

E-James here and I would like to say... Welcome to my BLOG! *BIG Smile* (^.^)
This is the very first post and I would like to dedicate it to God! God has blessed me in numerous ways and times over the course of my life and this blog will be an avenue to share and testify of the work that He continues to do in my life. Thank you Jesus =)
Much more will come, and I hope that you will be blessed each time you return to visit.
Every moment lived on this earth, for the glory of God!
