The Blue Sky Day, 2-Button Lift & Triangle Seat
I took these 3 photos using my PDA phone's not-too-good camera, but I kinda like them heh. Hope all of you will too =) All 3 photos were taken on Thursday, 2 days ago.
The sky in Singapore is often cloudy, and that makes this shot extra special =) Its not very often that we get a clear blue sky like this I think. There isn't a cloud in this photo. Sometimes having those white puffy marshmellows in the sky is nicer, haha... but other times I'll prefer a clear blue sky. I took this photo around 10am, on my way to UOB Plaza 1.

Most of us don't get to take a 2-button lift everyday... and I'm one of those who don't. That made this lift ride especially amusing. Its either Floor 1, or Floor 37, haha. This is the lift in UOB Plaza 1. I was there on some assignment. You'll need to take the lift to Floor 37 to access other floors. There's a viewing gallery on Floor 37, and the view is splendid! =)

I saw this chair at an office I visited later on Thursday, pretty unique design huh? Its covered in leather or leather-like material, and it felt quite comfortable actually heh.
An interesting Thursday it was, praise God! =)

Movies for the Holiday Season
(In no particular order)
1. James Bond - Casino Royale
2. Happy Feet
3. Open Season
4. Flags of our Fathers
There're so many shows I'm hoping to catch this holiday season heh... will have to wait till I'm back from Indonesia to catch them. I hope I didn't miss out on any good ones... =p
1. I can't miss this one... cos I'm like... James... haha.
2. Top of the U.S. Box office, should be good.
3. Looks like it'll provide a good laugh. They've got pretty cool names for their characters if I'm not wrong.
4. A war movie. It looks quite good from the trailer! 2 I vividly recall watching are 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Brotherhood (Korean)'.

2.5 Days to Jakarta
Its time to fly again... to a land not so far away heh. It'll be my third trip already this year. I'll be going to Jakarta for the first time to audit a client's subsidiary there with 3 other colleagues. I think it'll be pretty busy but I hope we'll still get fast internet access so I can conveniently keep in touch with everyone back home =) Its a short 1.5 week trip and I'll be back in time for my company's Dinner & Dance.
My feelings are a little mixed. On one hand, I'm excited to be visiting a new big city. On the other hand, however, I'll be missing my ex-church friend's wedding (we co-led a group of lower sec youths when we were in upper sec. She now attends the church her dad pastors) and home sweet home certainly, haha.
Please pray for my safety, for good health and opportunities to witness to my teammates. Thank you! =)

Funny Youth Camp Videos!
These are the youth camp promo videos of Church of Singapore (Bukit Timah) branch. They're really funny heh! (^.^) Do take a look. They've got a pretty vibrant youth ministry, and to those who made these videos possible, well done! I think its a pretty cool idea to put them up on YouTube, haha.

Youth Impact Promo Video
By the way, Church of Singapore has 5 branches. The main one is at Marine Parade. The rest are Balestier (which I belong to, although we're located at Thomson now), Bukit Timah, Woodlands and Harvest. We run quite independently so we don't really know most of the youths in the other branches. Go for camp if your youth ministry/para-church has one! =)

Mighty to Save
We sang this song (Hillsong) during English service for the past 2 Sundays, and I've to say that I really like the chorus and bridge! =) I think its an especially powerful and moving song when sung with conviction. No matter what difficult situation that you or I might be in, its a reminder that God is Mighty to Save.
(Chorus:)
Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save
Forever author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
(Bridge:)
Shine your light and Let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory Of the risen King
Jesus Shine your light and Let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory Of the risen King

Revelation Revealed
This can probably be a title for a book heh. We had an insightful session with our Pastor during zone time today, as he shared with us the different interpretations of this prophetic last book of the Bible. Terms like pre-, mid-, post-tribulation and pre-, post-millennium were mentioned and elaborated on. I shared at the end that if and when the rapture happens, we want to be ready and taken up by God. The main take-away for the session was therefore a reminder to be prepared and live Word-guided and Spirit-filled lives all the time =)
Pics from today!

Ship Ahoy!
The Doulos is back in Singapore after a long long time! =) For those of you who haven't heard about it, its a Christian ship operated by non-salaried volunteers from all around the world. One of its main purposes is to 'share a message of hope in God' as it travels from port to port. I hope to visit it before it leaves, with one of its highlights being the largest floating bookstore in the world! Here's the link if you'll like to find out more:
http://www.doulos.org/
I attended an interesting inter-youth ministry sharing session in church today. We hosted some of the youth leaders (chinese service, although they all speak english) from Kampung Kapur Methodist Church, and shared with them how we have been running our youth ministry. I thought it was a nice example of how churches can support one another across denominations.
Finally, here's helping to publicize a new Christian bookstore at Thomson Plaza that I just found out about after dinner today heh!

1 month Anniversary
This blog is officially 1 month old! =) Its been fun blogging... and its especially nice when I receive positive feedback about how you've been blessed by the posts.
I had a busy and somewhat stressful week at work, but it was good to leave 'early' everyday, the latest being 7.15pm.
To my amusement, I actually received 2 wedding invitations in the space of a week, which brings the tally of weddings I need to attend in December to 3 all of a sudden =p With grandpa's birthday, my company's dinner and dance, cell outing, youth camp and Christmas coming up too, it looks like it will be a busy holiday season for me. Its my favourite time of the year and I can hardly wait for it to arrive! =) (if only there will be snow too, haha. Real snow...)

Making Decisions
That was the title of my Pastor's sermon on Sunday. I thought it was really good and its somewhat linked to my earlier post on being 'at the right place at the right time'. I hope that the points that my Pastor gave would help you make better decisions, so here I am posting the outline =)
We make many many decisions every day, e.g. what to eat, what to wear, what to do, etc. etc. What happens next (in seconds/minutes/hours/days/months/years) is usually largely dependent on the decisions that we make beforehand. This highlights the importance of making good decisions that will result in a favourable outcome. 5 points were given, but the 3 that I felt stood out most were:
1. Divide life into manageable segments
2. Weld ourselves into a lifelong partnership with God
3. Understand timing
Timing is important. C.S. Lewis wrote this in one of his books:
The wrong decision at the wrong time = Disaster
The wrong decision at the right time = Mistake
The right decision at the wrong time = Rejection
The right decision at the right time = Success
To make the right decision at the right time, keep these in mind:
1. Place God at the centre of all your decisions (2 Sam 6:1-15).
2. Good decisions are made in an atmosphere of joy (2 Sam 6:14-15).
3. Decide in favor of God before self (2 Sam 7:2, 2 Cor 12:9-10).
4. A good decision sometimes means making a decision to postpone decision (2 Sam 6:10-12).
5. Decide only after you are through with all your evaluation.
6. Jump the information gap and trust God (Phi 3:13-14, 1 Ki 1:32-35, 2:1-11).
Point 6 was highlighted after point 5 because the reality is that we often do not have the luxury of time to evaluate all we want before making a decision. Even after thorough evaluation, it is very often not possible to be 100% certain, and it is during times like these that we'll have to make the best decision we can with the information available and trust the rest to God. If we stay close to God and put Christ at the centre, the desires we have just before making the decision are more likely to have been placed there by God to help direct us.
Let's always strive to make the right decision at the right time =)

Subway comes to Junction 8
I was at J8 this evening... and I'm so glad to share that Subway has finally arrived! *Big Grin* I was already a regular customer when there was only one Subway outlet in Singapore, at the basement of Raffles City. I love the sandwiches (Honey Oat *Thumbs Up*), and of course the cookies (chocolate chip and white chocolate with macademia)! =)

"The Return" to Vivo City
Its been a busy week for me... with most of my attention focused on completing the work I had been assigned for the client I was assigned to. Its a shipping company and I've had to pick up alot of new stuff because of very limited knowledge in this industry. The clients I have audited already thus far are in very different industries. I have certainly gained in terms of learning how different companies operate, and also how the numbers kept relate to business.
It was nice to have a sub-department dinner and movie outing at Vivo City today. I had to work late, and by the time I arrived with some colleagues at this German restaurant there called Brotzeit, there was only a little finger food and drinks left. It left many of us who had to work late and arrive late somewhat disappointed, because its supposed to be a company-sponsored event and the organisers had under-catered. Anyway, next came the movie Flushed and I thought it was great! =) It was really funny, with quite a bit of Brit humor in it. Its a show I would highly recommend if you'll like a good laugh! The weekend is here... and I'm really glad it is! =)
